Abstract

This article investigates the stylistic specialization of punctuation marks in English and Uzbek literary discourse from a comparative linguistic perspective. Punctuation, traditionally regarded as a system of graphic symbols regulating syntactic boundaries, is increasingly recognized as a multifunctional semiotic resource capable of conveying emotional, pragmatic, and stylistic meanings beyond grammatical structuring. The study aims to identify how punctuation marks operate as expressive devices in literary texts and how their functions differ across English and Uzbek linguistic-cultural contexts.
