This article provides a historical and scientific analysis of the institutional development processes of the museum network in the southern regions of Uzbekistan. It examines the establishment of museums, management systems, legal and regulatory frameworks, and the main directions of their activities. Special attention is paid to the role of state policy, socio-economic factors, and scientific expeditions in the formation of regional museums. The study reveals the stages of development of the museum network and its importance in preserving cultural heritage. As a result, scientific conclusions are proposed to improve the museum system.
