Abstract

This article examines one of the most pressing issues of potato cultivation in the climatic conditions of Uzbekistan - the susceptibility of the crop to viral and fungal diseases, resulting in a decrease in yield. The prospects for selecting disease-resistant varieties and samples from the local gene pool, improving them using the in vitro (tube) method, and creating a high-quality superelite seed production system have been scientifically substantiated.
