Abstract

This paper examines didactic games as an effective means of developing learners' cognitive activity. It explores the essence of the didactic game, its role in the educational process, and its impact on fostering an interest in learning. Particular attention is paid to the development of cognitive processes such as attention, memory, thinking, imagination, and speech. The paper notes that the use of game-based methods helps boost motivation, stimulate independent student activity, and create a favorable educational environment. It analyzes the main types of didactic games and the specifics of their application at various stages of learning. The conclusion is drawn that didactic games serve as a vital pedagogical tool, ensuring the effective acquisition of knowledge and the development of children's cognitive activity.
