Abstract

This research aims to study the method of reasoning in interpreting the verses of Imamate in the Holy Quran by explaining the scientific foundations that interpreters relied upon to understand the verses related to Imamate, guardianship, and religious leadership after the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. The study reviews the
most important verses that Muslim scholars used as evidence in this field, analyzing the Quranic, narrative, linguistic, and rational proofs, and clarifying the points of agreement and disagreement between Islamic schools of interpretation, especially between the Shi'a (Imami) school and the Sunni school. It also sheds light on the methods of weighing different opinions, and the impact of the principles of interpretation in building reasoning, reaching scientific conclusions that contribute to understanding the subject of Imamate from a Quranic exegesis perspective.
